Why hire CSCG?

Hiring CSCG, especially for its INMETRO certification, ensures that we can treat your certification process with full respect, and in addition to providing full technical support to comply with Brazilian legislation, we can also offer our local representative service, that is, if your company does not yet have a representative in Brazil, which is mandatory under the new INMETRO Rule 115/2022, we can offer this service. In other words, with CSCG you will have: - Local representative; - Technical support with INMETRO certification for Explosive Atmospheres; - INMETRO certificate issued by a CSCG Solutions partner.

Frequently Asked Questions Questions & Answers

INMETRO Rule 179/2010 was canceled by Brazilian legislation and updated by INMETRO Rule 115/2022. What has changed?

– In technical terms, few changes for those who have IECEx certificates, but those who have other schemes, such as the ATEX Directive, now have stricter rules;

– It is mandatory to have a LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE in Brazil, which, if your company does not have one, CSCG can offer this service and even carry out the certification for you, all in a single service/contract/agreement.

The INMETRO certification for products in explosive atmospheres is issued by a company accredited by CGCRE INMETRO to prove that the products and equipment used in classified areas offer a certain safety, based on normative requirements of the ABNT NBR IEC 60079 and ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 80079 series. The certification is based on INMETRO Rule No. 115 of March 21, 2022 (INMETRO Rule 115/2022), and contains all the guidelines and certification models, which are mentioned in items 6.1 (Model 5 – Initial Certification), 6.2 (Model 1b – Unit Verification) and 6.3 (SPI – Situations of Imported Products). See the full and updated Ordinance at the following INMETRO link: http://sistema-sil.inmetro.gov.br/rtac/RTAC002941.pdf

All electrical products and components to be installed in Brazil in classified areas must have INMETRO certification compulsorily, according to INMETRO Rule 115/2022 (link: http://sistema-sil.inmetro.gov.br/rtac/RTAC002941.pdf). In the case of non-electric equipment, it is not compulsory, but NR-37 (link: https://www.gov.br/trabalho-e-emprego/pt-br/acesso-a-informacao/participacao-social/conselhos-e-orgaos-colegiados/comissao-tripartite-partitaria-permanente/arquivos/normas-regulamentadoras/nr-37-atualizada-2022-1.pdf) establishes evaluation criteria for safety and health on oil platforms (offshore), following ABNT NBR ISO 80079-36 and ABNT NBR ISO 80079-37.

It is not possible to optimize in this way, but the opposite (IECEx to INMETRO) is valid, that is, before launching your product, consult CSCG to learn how to optimize your laboratory tests and factory audit, to obtain INMETRO, IECEx and ATEX certification at once.

The value varies greatly between the certification model, tests and audits to be carried out or not, as well as the OCP INMETRO to be used. Consult the CSCG to understand your needs, and the amounts that may be involved.

INMETRO provides a website (ProdCert) for consultation in addition to the certificates, as well as other information regarding certifiers, laboratories, accredited scopes, among other details. See: http://www.inmetro.gov.br/prodcert/certificados/busca.asp
